Medford High School Building Committee Meeting: September 22, 2026

During this meeting, the school building committee voted to remove 15,530 gross square feet (10,353 net square feet multiplied by 1.5) from the project across multiple spaces, further cutting the project cost by an estimated $16.9 million. The Space efficiencies reviewed & identified were:
- All Classrooms by 50 net sq ft
- Academic Support Hubs & Medford Academy Work Space by 25 ft
- Reductions in Special Education Resource Room, PT Room, Small Group Reading Room, Sensory Rooms
- Two CTE toilet Rooms (students can use general use, nearby toilet rooms)
- Three CTE Related classrooms (Graphic Design, Biotech, Public Safety – functionality can be incorporated into shop layout)
- Reduction of over 1,000 net sq feet each in Carpentry & Health Assisting Shops (based on class sizes during instruction)
